• Evaluate and assess resident needs. Assist in development of an individualized service plan for a specific caseload of residents based on comprehensive assessment.
• Provide leadership in implementing QA programs.

CNA's are the heart of our nursing department. As a CNA, you are responsible for offering our residents kind and compassionate support with activities of daily living with direction from the Director of Nursing and as outlined in service plans.

Essential Functions Include but are not limited to:

• Assist with bathing/showering, dressing, grooming, ambulation, toileting, eating, laundry, housekeeping, and activities.
• Encourage residents to be as independent as possible while developing positive relationships with residents and their families.
• Support food service and wellness programs as assigned. Serve daily meals and assist with necessary kitchen duties to prepare for the following meal.
• Observe and report changes in resident’s physical and emotional condition to your supervisor. Assume responsibility for communication log and giving and receiving report.
• Respond to incidents and emergency calls promptly.
• Assist with wellness activities; large group as well as 1:1 with residents.

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements: This position requires standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, moderate lifting and carrying, and activities throughout the day. Must have good vision, hearing, and verbal communication skills to communicate with residents, families, co-workers, and visitors. Must have good physical and mental health. Must be neat and clean in appearance.

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Current certification from the State of Iowa for Nurse Aide is preferred but The Views prides ourselves in assisting individuals in obtaining their CNA if you do not have one. Must be able to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions. Must have willingness to learn and provide compassionate care for the frail elderly and persons with dementia.
